Egypt 1935 – Beautiful heiress Kay Ridgeway embarks on a honeymoon cruise aboard the Lotus, a luxury Nile steamer, accompanied by her penniless new husband, Simon Mostyn. Their fellow passengers have reason to hate her, among them Simon’s betrayed lover Jacqueline, who has stalked the newlyweds to confront them in their happiness.
When a shocking murder occurs, kindly clergyman Canon Pennefather must assume the role of detective to uncover an extraordinary conspiracy with evil at its heart. With a host of colourful characters, intrigue and plot twists, this is Agatha Christie’s own adaptation of her novel, Death on the Nile.
Crafted by queen of crime herself for the stage, the play is set in the golden age of mystery and suspense.
