Goodbye to Broadway – we had a great week!
Thanks to everyone who came to see Irving’s Guys and Dolls at the Theatre Royal last week … what a great time we had. See the Gallery for photos of the show on stage, and also of a masterclass our company was so lucky to have with our wonderful Patron, Clare Presland – thank you so much Clare. Thank you so much Andy Abbott for taking the photographs.
This classic romantic comedy, with its wonderful score, brings to life the vibrant world of 1950s New York. With characters including charismatic gambler Sky Masterson, Sister Sarah Brown of the Save a Soul Mission, chancer Nathan Detroit and his long-time fiancee, showgirl Miss Adelaide, Guys and Dolls is a legend of the Broadway stage – with a recent revival in London proving its enduring popularity.
The memorable score includes Luck be a Lady, I’ve Never Been In Love Before, I’ll Know When My Love Comes Along and Sit Down You’re Rocking The Boat, plus high-energy dance numbers.
Based on a story and characters of Damon Runyon. Music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, Book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows.
This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International.
