The annual Hidden Gardens of Bury trail was the ideal chance for Jess Hughes to start getting into character as Eliza Doolittle, which she will perform at the Theatre Royal in November during Irving Stage Company’s production of the much-loved musical. Dressed as the Cockney flowergirl that Professor Higgins meets at the start of the show, Jess visited one of the participating gardens by kind permission of Stephen and Marcia Oliver. The annual event allows visitors into many of Bury’s beautiful secret gardens to raise money for St Nicholas Hospice Care. PICTURE: Andy Abbott
